It will be based at the four-star Novotel Cardiff Centre, Schooner
Way, Atlantic Wharf, Cardiff CF10 4RT where reduced room rates
for B & B have been arranged for members of OSA, double occupancy
£95, single occupancy £85. There will be the University
hosted Reception on Friday evening, AGM, lecture and visits on
the Saturday, and at the grand Reunion Dinner on Saturday evening
the principal speaker will be Sir Emyr Jones Parry, KCMG.
Bookings for the Novotel should be made directly with the

A
GEOLOGICAL EXCURSION on Sunday 6th April to look at classic localities
along the Glamorgan coast is proposed. This will be available
to any member of the former Department of Geology at Aber and
to any OSA members who express an interest. It will be organised
by Tony Harris who was a member of the Department (1953-1959)
and who was the last external examiner of the BSc Geology Degree.
People wishing to attend the excursion are asked to contact Tony
at toneenh -at- waitrose.com
or by post to Pentwyn, St Andrews Major, Vale of Glamorgan CF64
4HD.
It is intended that the excursion would leave the Novotel after
breakfast on April 6th and would disperse in the late afternoon
of that day. A coach from Cardiff to and from the localities could
be arranged, provided that there was sufficient demand and that
insufficient places were available in private cars. So, if you
are thinking of coming along, please indicate the number of car
places you could offer or if you need a place.
Membership of OSA is not required for participation in the
excursion, and members of the former Department of Geology are
warmly invited to attend all or any part of the Annual Reunion.
